This year HistoryPLUSArt launched a new webinar series intent on discovering how to enforce social change through a look at history and art history.  To kick off this series, our consultant highlighted the revolutionary but accommodating Early Renaissance period artists who struggled through crises like the Black Death and the Crusading wars of the late middle ages.

     Artists like Masaccio struggled against the same challenge posed by the Church we face today with the media: who judges standards in acceptable and unacceptable forms of art, journalism, and literature? What is too controversial? And most important, how does one measure truth?
