Last year, one Canadian province devised a long-range plan that would implement a "MyBlueprint "database for Grade 9 students, to develop a ‘graduation and transition from high school plan’ and test it out for 2015-2016. What objectives would that program target? By June 2020, students would report higher levels of engagement in learning and per year, achieve a 3% increase in the provincial graduation rate at Grade 12.
Other objectives included analysis of data regarding students between grades 7 and 10 to develop a transition action plan for improvement, alternate ways to support graduation such as off campus education, credit/outcome recovery, and hands-on learning. Ultimately, by 2020, the provincial graduation rate would rise to 85%. Would you support such a program in your state or province?
